Absolutely. If we think of it, we start being harsh and “up-front” honest (more like totally insensitive and downright impolite) when we get too “comfortable” and “settled” with our partners, family, friends… No one usually does this at the start of a relationship, when they’re afraid of losing the person. But being ‘family’ (completely erroneously) presupposes that the other person won’t go anywhere from you — be they a partner, husband, or child. What a surprise it is when they don’t take that well!
I’m convinced that being truthful to yourself and your family, and being downright blunt about things isn’t the same. The latter is just a matter of uncontrolled emotions, annoyance, and temper control.
