Capitalism thrives on all the symptoms of psychopathy/sociopathy and nurtures all its traits — lack of empathy, grandiose self-projection, value for only monetary goods, “any means to an end”. Those who succeed on a grand scale in such society are the sociopaths who have no intrinsic value for the humble, small, precious life that gives our life value.

I once had a landlord who took a hammer and broke down his own window (which wouldn’t open) to throw down a pigeon’s nest with eggs on the roof of his house. Apparently, the pigeon didn’t pay him rent.
